Breach of Contract/Business Litigation
Mr. Chiniche has litigated multiple cases on behalf of local corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies to enforce their contractual rights against parties involving matters constituting business fraud, misrepresentation, interference with contractual relationships, and other business torts.
Copyright Infringement
Mr. Chiniche has enforced copyright infringement actions on behalf of clients that own rights to intellectual property.
Breach of Contract/Fraud
Mr. Chiniche represented investors in a breach of contract and fraud claim against a company they had done business with for many years. When the founding member of the company breached the contract between the parties, Mr. Chiniche pursued a claim against the founding member and was successful in “piercing the corporate veil” (a legal protection afforded to most corporations and LLCs under Mississippi law that follow required corporate formalities) against the individual. Following a favorable decision from the court on a motion for summary judgment, the case settled for a confidential sum.

White Collar Criminal Defense
Mr. Chiniche has successfully handled white collar crimes such as tax evasion, embezzlement, wire fraud, U.S. Customs enforcements, and Federal Drug Administration violations.
Murder
Mr. Chiniche represented a young man from Tennessee indicted on a murder charge by a Marshall County grand jury. After a careful review of the evidence in the case and after successfully arguing that his client had no role in such an unfortunate incident and that a fellow co-defendant’s story did not match the evidence in the case, the District Attorney’s Office dismissed the charges against Mr. Chiniche’s client before trial.
DUI
Mr. Chiniche has vast experience representing people charged with DUI and has successfully had those charges dropped, dismissed, non-adjudicated, or otherwise disposed of favorably for the client.
Sale of Controlled Substance
State court charges of conspiracy to commit sale of controlled substance in violation of Miss. Code Ann. §41-29-139 tried to a jury and resulted in a hung jury/mistrial.
Forgery/Counterfeiting
Successfully defended a North Mississippi adult on charges of forgery/counterfeiting before the United States District Court - Northern District of Mississippi; indictment was dismissed.
Burglary
Mr. Chiniche represented a young man charged with burglary of a dwelling with intent to commit larceny in Lafayette County’s Circuit Court. After a two-day trial and an alleged “eye witness” to the crime, the jury returned an acquittal or “not guilty” verdict.
Firearm Offense
Mr. Chiniche and David G. Hill represented a Detroit, Michigan, man and father of two, under a multi-count federal indictment involving allegations of having violated the federal firearms statute and gun trafficking. After a week-long trial in the U.S. District Court in Oxford, the jury returned an acquittal on all counts as contained in the indictment.
Criminal Conspiracy
Mr. Chiniche, David G. Hill, and other co-counsel represented multiple defendants charged with conspiracy to traffic cocaine under 21 U.S.C. § 841, et. seq. After the defendants were convicted in the U.S. District Court, Mr. Chiniche and co-counsels filed an appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth (5th) Circuit—after oral argument was granted, the Fifth Circuit appellate panel reversed the defendants' conviction based upon an illegal search and seizure issue and remanded their case back to the trial court. All charges were later dismissed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Domestic Abuse/Assault
Mr. Chiniche represented a university employee charged with the domestic assault of a family member; after trial, the court rendered a verdict of not guilty on all counts.
Injury/Insurance/Tort Law/Workers’ Compensation:
18 Wheeler Accident
Mr. Chiniche and co-counsel represented a North Mississippi man after his vehicle collided with an 18 Wheeler. Who was “at fault” was a contested issue that resulted in the parties going to trial. Near the conclusion of the Plaintiff’s case, Mr. Chiniche and co-counsel secured a settlement for their client in the amount of $350,000.00 when the court recessed the trial for lunch. This case was settled without waiting for a verdict from the jury.
18 Wheeler Accident
Mr. Chiniche and co-counsel represented a 23-year-old Louisiana student who was driving home with his mother after visiting relatives for the Thanksgiving holidays when they had an accident with an 18 wheeler in Rankin County, Mississippi, along Interstate 20. The driver and his mother incurred medical expenses in the months following the accident, and after almost a week-long trial in the U.S. District Court in Natchez, the jury, before comparing the fault of both parties, awarded the student and his mother $80,000.00 for past, present, and future medical expenses.
18 Wheeler Accident
Mr. Chiniche represented a female student at the University of Mississippi who was a guest-passenger in a vehicle hit by a tractor-truck trailer carrying supplies to a retailer in Oxford, Mississippi. The student incurred medical expenses after having suffered soft tissue injuries (head, neck, and back) in the wreck when her upper body hit the support beam in the vehicle’s cabin. The case settled for a confidential sum.
Insurance Claim (Homeowners Insurance)
After a devastating fire, Mr. Chiniche represented a homeowner from Water Valley, Mississippi, in negotiating a favorable policy limit settlement for fire damage with her insurance carrier in excess of $160,000.00. This amount was in addition to other amounts already paid under the homeowner’s policy.
Federal Workers’ Compensation
Mr. Chiniche represented an Air Traffic Control technician at a U.S. Naval Air Base when a psychiatric disability rendered him unable to work. Mr. Chiniche filed a federal workers' compensation case under 5 U.S.C.A. § 8101, et al. under a complicated theory of legal liability termed a “mental-mental” disability. Mr. Chiniche’s client was awarded past, present, and future medical care as it related to his work disability along with lost wages during the employee’s rehabilitation.
Mississippi Workers’ Compensation
Mr. Chiniche represented an employee injured while performing duties at one of the nation's largest building supply retailer. The employee suffered soft tissue injuries and was out of work for almost two years. The case settled for a confidential sum.
Medical Negligence
Mr. Chiniche and co-counsels represented an elderly woman suffering from renal disease who was neglected by nursing staff at a north Mississippi medical facility, causing a hip fracture. The case settled for a confidential sum.
Assault/Battery
Mr. Chiniche represented an 18-year-old young man assaulted while at work, which resulted in the young man suffering maxillofacial injuries. This case settled for a confidential sum without a lawsuit having to be filed.
Motor Vehicle Accident
Mr. Chiniche secured a favorable settlement for a school teacher in Gautier, Mississippi, after another vehicle collided with the vehicle carrying her and her husband along U.S. Highway 90. Following the accident, the school teacher required surgery to repair back and spinal disk injuries. This teacher settled her claim with the insurance company representing the at-fault party for policy limits in the amount of $100,000.00.
Civil Rights Violation
Mr. Chiniche and co-counsel represented a female special education high school student who claimed to be sexually assaulted by a fellow student while at school. The student filed suit against the North Mississippi school district, the principal, and other school officials in federal court for negligent supervision. This case settled for a confidential sum.
